I saw a light in the night sky. That light was a bombing, destroying the city as its destination. While I was left speechless by the meaning of that image, the streak of light also felt like a shooting star - beautiful, in spite of myself. (Even though, ethically, I should not feel that way.) This confusion over my contradictory feelings became the starting point for creating a work as “an update / a patch” to mend my own flaws and vulnerabilities, and to add a new point of view.
夜空に光を見た。その光は爆撃で、行き先の街を破壊した。 その映像の意味するものに言葉を失う一方、光の筋が流れ星のようにも感じられ、美しいと感じてしまった。 (倫理的にはそう感じるべきではないにも関わらず) ー この矛盾する感覚への戸惑いをきっかけに、 自身の不具合や脆弱性を修正し、新たな視座を追加するための更新(パッチ)として、作品を作ってみることにした。
